The local chapters of CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations), ICNA (Islamic Circle of North America), WhyIslam and MAS (Muslim American Society) have launched a joint effort to educate fellow Americans about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) after the issues surfacing around the cartoon controversy.
Alhamdulillah (praise be to God), the Council of American Islamic relations (CAIR) called on Muslims to support a major educational effort, called Explore the Life of Muhammad(pbuh).
The year-long initiative will begin by offering people of all faiths a free book or DVD about the life and legacy of the Prophet Muhammad. CAIR's campaign will also feature grass-roots educational activities in Muslim communities throughout North America.
Visitors to CAIR's campaign website, Explore the Life of Muhammad(pbuh), will be able to choose either a DVD of the PBS documentary "Muhammad: Legacy of a Prophet" or the book "Muhammad" by Yahiya Emerick.
On Tuesday, February 14, the Philadelphia chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Philly) will hold a noon news conference at CAIR-Philly offices in Philadelphia, PA, to launch a major educational effort focusing on the life and legacy of Islam's Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Other organizations including ICNA-Philadelphia will join them in their effort.

Praise be to Allah! The demonstration in Philadelphia was successful.
500 to 600 demonstrators turned up and participated in an orderly but strong protest against reprinting of the cartoons disrespecting Prophet Mohammad Peace be upon him.
Many members of the press were interviewing the muslims.
Many brochures and flyers were distributed to the passers-by introducing them to the Prophet of Islam and his message.
Prominent speakers from the muslim organizations made speeches at the occasion explaining the position of Muslims on this issue and demanding an apology from the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Alhamdolillah on Sunday, the Eid dinner of ISGVF was held at Norristown Cedar club.
Br. Imtiaz Chaudhary gave a talk on Hajj, sacrifice and turning to Allah.
Returning Hajis were congratulated and Br Syed Naeem, Sr. Moza, Br. Shams, Dr. Shamsi and Br. Musa Farfari gave their experiences at Hajj.
A large gathering of the community was present and it was a very fruitful event.
Alhamdolillah the Fundraising dinner for Earthquake relief / Eid was held at Villanova Foundation. Maulana Yousuf Islahi, Dr. Mohsin Ansari, Dr. Mustafa Ahmad were speakers and a presentation about Young Muslims was made. Around Four thousand Dollars were raised on the occasion for South Asia Earthquake fund of ICNA Relief.
